Fan Purge Cycle is used to adjust how long a thermostat keeps the fan enabled after a heating and cooling cycle. A Purge Cycle is used to push any latent energy out of the air handler and into the room, which increases the energy efficiency value of the air handler.
This configuration can be found in the Pelican Web-App > Admin > Thermostat Configuration > ‘select any thermostat‘ > Thermostat Operation > Fan Purge Cycle.
Configuration options and their meaning:
1 – 3 min (Default): The fan will remain enabled for at least one (1) minute after each heating or cooling cycle. Unless there is a supply sensor, then the purge cycle will be extended to up to three (3) minutes or until the supply air temperature is within 15°F of the space temperature, whichever occurs first.
For example, after a cooling cycle, if the space temperature is 75°F, the purge cycle will remain active until the discharge air temperature is 90°F or three (3) minutes has elapsed, whichever occurs first.
Unlimited: The fan will remain enabled for at least one (1) minute after each heating or cooling cycle. Unless there is a supply sensor, then the purge cycle will be extended until the supply temperature is within 15°F of the space temperature.
For example, after a cooling cycle, if the space temperature is 75°F, the purge cycle will remain active until the discharge air temperature is 90°F or less.
Disabled: The fan will not be forced to run as a purge cycle after each cooling or heating cycle.
