Notifications Settings: Sensitivity Level
It is normally rare to need to adjust a thermostats notification sensitivity level from the default “Medium” because is rare to receive unnecessary notification from this type of notification, even when set to High. These type of notifications are designed to notify you because of an HVAC equipment failure and is only active when a heating or cooling cycle is running.
If you receive this type of notification it normally indicates an HVAC equipment mechanical failure which needs to be addressed. This is NEVER an indication of an issue with your Pelican solution.
Sensitivity Level: High
During a heating cycle: If the thermostat has had the heat enabled for one (1) hour and the room temperature is still 1°F below the heat set point, a heating failure notification will be generated.
During a cooling cycle: If the thermostat has had the heat enabled for one (1) hour and the room temperature is still 1°F above the cool set point, a cooling failure notification will be generated.
Thermostat Unreachable: If the thermostat remains unreachable for 4 hours then a thermostat unreachable notification will be generated.
Sensitivity Level: Medium
During a heating cycle: If the thermostat has had the heat enabled for one (1) hour and the room temperature is still 3°F below the heat set point, a heating failure notification will be generated.
During a cooling cycle: If the thermostat has had the heat enabled for one (1) hour and the room temperature is still 3°F above the cool set point, a cooling failure notification will be generated.
Thermostat Unreachable: If the thermostat goes unreachable, NO notification will be generated.
Why? It can be common for some sites to have thermostats that go unreachable for short periods of time. This is not considered a reason to generate a notification. Remember, every Pelican device stores its configurations and schedules internally, so short unreachable periods have no impact on maintaining your indoor comfort.

During a heating cycle: If the thermostat has had the heat enabled for one (1) hour and the room temperature is still 5°F below the heat set point, a heating failure notification will be generated.
During a cooling cycle: If the thermostat has had the heat enabled for one (1) hour and the room temperature is still 5°F above the cool set point, a cooling failure notification will be generated.
Thermostat Unreachable: If the thermostat goes unreachable, NO notification will be generated.

Sensitivity Level: Custom
Setpoint Deviation: During a call for heat or cool, if the temperature is not trending in the correct direction for one (1) hour, this sets how many degrees above or below the thermostat’s set point the room must be at before the thermostat generates a heating failure or cooling failure notification.
Notify if Unreachable: If set to YES a notification will be generated if the thermostat goes unreachable for 4 hours. If set to NO, then no notification will be generated.

Notifications Settings: Safe Range
This notification is designed specifically for unique environments where if the room temperature EVER exceeds the configured safe range, a notification will be generated.
Many Pelican customers accidently set this notification when it is not needed since it should really only be used in temperature sensitive environments (such as a server room).
Notification Settings: CO₂ Warning Level
If you have a Pelican thermostat with a CO₂ sensor, you can configure a CO₂ Warning Level. This will provide you with a notification anytime a room reaches the configured CO₂ level.
Note: If you do not see this configuration and you have Pelican thermostat with CO₂ sensors, contact Pelican technical support to upgrade your thermostat to V3.10 or later.
