Some HVAC units require the thermostat to enable the supply fan during a heating cycle, while other units have their own internal timers and/or temperature sensors. Units with their own sensors automatically enable the supply fan once the heat exchanger has reached a factory set temperature. This helps prevent blowing cold air into the room.
