Why has my subscription expired?
This indicates that your site has been converted to Pelican's Basic Subscription.
You must be both an Admin and have been provided subscription access to a site to pay and view the subscription.
What does this mean?
To not panic. Pelican’s Basic Subscription provides you with access to all your Pelican devices, all the features and configurations you enjoy, and your system is 100% active for life for free.
Some of our customers require features we offer under our Standard Subscription because it costs us money to provide these features and, because we are not a SaaS company, so simply pass these low costs directly to our customers who need them. These are simply site access and data logging features.

What does the Standard Subscription provide that isn't part of the free Basic Subscription?
Unlimited Administrators and Users
With the standard subscription, your Pelican site supports an unlimited number of Administrators and Users. With the basic subscription, your Pelican site supports a single Administrator.
Email and Text Message Notifications
With the standard subscription, your Pelican site supports sending an unlimited number of alarm notifications via email and/or text message. With the basic subscription, your Pelican site supports providing alarm notifications within the web-app.
Two Years of Historical Data
With the standard subscription, your Pelican site supports storing two years of real-time historical data for every device and point within your Pelican solution. With the basic subscription, your Pelican site supports storing one week of real-time historical data for every device and point within your Pelican solution.
After Hour Usage Reports
This a report that Pelican can setup for you. The report is formatted as a spreadsheets and provides tracked after hour run-time for each thermostat in your building and is send on a monthly basis. Anytime a Pelican thermostat turns on a heating or cooling cycle, after normal business hours, the report can provide you with this information so you can charge your tenants for the after hour HVAC usage.

OpenAPI Interface
The Pelican solution has a fully published OpenAPI interface that can be used to integrate you Pelican solution with other third-party systems. For this to be active, it requires the Standard subscription.
Why did I not see this when I first installed Pelican?
We apologize if this was not well communicated to you. Pelican is not a SaaS company, so our intent is to provide you with features which far exceed other solutions for free under our Basic subscription. Only customers who need the additional features of the Standard subscription need to pay for the subscription.
Note: The features provided by the Standard subscription are active for free for the first year you have Pelican. After the one year period is over, your site automatically reverts to the Basic subscription.
What does the Standard subscription cost?
