What are Mixing Box Constant Volume (MB-CV) systems?

When a single air handler provides cooling and ventilation through one duct to multiple zones and central heating through a separate (second) duct to the same zones.

Each zone has two dampers which are controlled by a single actuator. These dampers operate in reverse of each other, so either the cold deck is open and the hot deck is close, or vise versa.
