What does waiting mean?

“Waiting” indicates that a room is on standby, awaiting permission from another Pelican controller to begin a heating, cooling, or fan cycle. This is a normal operational state, and the thermostat will automatically start its cycle when allowed.

Common Reasons for “Waiting”:

  1. Zone Thermostats with Multi-Zone Air Handler Controllers:

    • Pelican Zone Thermostats requesting heating, cooling, or fan circulation cycles from a multi-zone air handler controller will remain in “Waiting” until the requested cycle becomes active.
  2. Water-Source Heat Pump (WSHP) Thermostats with Pump Controllers:

    • WSHP thermostats interlocked with a Pelican condensing water-loop pump controller will display “Waiting” until the pump controller verifies active water flow.

This status ensures coordinated operation among interconnected devices for optimal system performance.
