On-Demand Start is a sequence that Technical Support can apply between Pelican thermostats and a Power Control Module (PM5-120/240).
On-Demand Start:
This sequence works by linking Pelican thermostat demands (heat, cool, and/or fan) to one or multiple relays on the Pelican power control module. This link is over the Pelican wireless network, so no wires need to be run between the power control module and the associated thermostats.
The On-Demand sequence can be configured so that if any Pelican thermostat calls for heat, cool, and/or fan, the power control module’s relay enables. Then when there are no call for heat, cool, and/or fan, the power control module’s relay disables.
A delay can be set for the power control module, which keeps its relay enabled for a short period after the heat, cool, and/or fan calls have been eliminated.
Common On-Demand appplications:
- To start a common exhaust fan.
- To start a common ERV or HRV.
- To start a common water pump.
- To start a boiler, cooling tower, or chiller.
- To open a common relief damper.
